Our new church is dedicated: The House for His Glory

Twelve years of prayer, sacrifice, hope and faith were answered this August, when the congregation walked from the church that holds our memories into the church that will carry our future. The new church on Balaji Street was dedicated with thanksgiving and worship, and the countdown that began at “31 days to go” ended in celebration.

“What generations prayed for, today stands before us. A new chapter begins.”

Our story

From Humble Beginnings to a House of Worship

CSI St. John’s Church, Perungalathur, traces its beginnings to 1969, when thirteen households came together to build a small tiled-roof church on Balaji Street. Over the decades the church was extended, rebuilt and consecrated, became the mother church of the Perungalathur Pastorate, and celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2019.

In August 2026, after twelve years of prayer and sacrifice, the congregation moved into a new church: The House for His Glory. Each brick laid and every prayer offered stands as a testimony to the faith, dedication and sacrifices of the congregation.
